MEXICAN FEATHERED TEXTILES

In 2016 The Museo de Textil in Oaxaca presented an exhibition on feathered textiles. The contemporary works were achieved after ten years of experimentation and further research of a late 17th c. textile housed in the Museum's collections. This talk will present the singularities of this technique, for these have not been documented in other cultures with traditions on featherwork. The importance of Museum collections, the research around them, and an effective communication with creative communities will also be addressed.
