Research and work on the languages that make up the Otomangue family and others more present in Oaxaca and surrounding areas has had an important development in recent decades. The COLOV is a forum for discussion and exchange among leading researchers at the as well as speakers and all people from different fields that work for the knowledge, appreciation and strengthening of these languages: teachers, artists, activists, writers and officials.

La investigación y el trabajo sobre las lenguas que integran la familia otomangue y otras más presentes en Oaxaca y zonas colindantes ha tenido un desarrollo importante en la últimas décadas. El COLOV es un foro para la discusión y el intercambio en al que participan no sólo algunos de los principales investigadores a nivel nacional y internacional de las lenguas otomangues y vecinas, sino también los hablantes y todas la personas que desde distintos ámbitos trabajan por el conocimiento, aprecio y fortalecimiento de estas lenguas: profesores, artistas, activistas, escritores y funcionarios.
