TALK: MEZCAL — IT'S HISTORY, PRODUCTION and NUANCES

Presented by Alvin Starkman

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23 / 5 PM

Back by popular demand…This discussion focuses on teaching about mezcal through explaining its history, current diversity of production methods, and flavor and aroma nuances. Learn why mezcal has the potential to compete with single malt scotch as the most complex spirit in the world, and how it differs from tequila as well as pulque and other traditional Mexican alcoholic beverages. We’ll sample at least 10 types of mezcal made from different agaves, in different parts of Oaxaca, using different distillation techniques.

Payment either at the OLL front desk or on the OLL Event page https://www.oaxlibrary.org/online-store. Early registration advised. Members: 90 pesos Non-members: 130 pesos
