A DOUBLE Book & Author program with Sarah Van Arsdale and Michael Sledge will take place on Jan. 29 at 12 noon on the OLL terrace. The presentation is free and open to all. Ms. Van Arsdale's latest book, CATCH AND RELEASE, takes the reader into a vivid oceanic realms off the coast of Mexico through the author/illustrator's watercolor illustrations of sea creature. The poetic and richly detailed story of an imprisoned shark;s liberation confronts humanity's role in the destruction of the magnificent underwater world, while offering hope for the planet's future.
Novelist Michael Sledge's new book, AL SUR: UN CRONICA DEL VALLE ENCANTADA, chronicles his experience buying and restoring a hacienda in Tlacochahuaya, 20 km from Oaxaca. It is more than a travel story; Sledge describes the meeting and clash of two cultures, seasoned with humor and to carry out his dream, even confronts the ghost who "live" in the hacienda.
