This hike, new in 2022, takes visitors far into beautiful country with grand rolling hills and deep canyons. Near the end of a two-hour drive we pass through the small isolated villages of Cieneguilla, Carbonera and finally Santiago Tenango. Our trailhead is a spot on a rough country road which winds through the hills, totally isolated from civilization. This hike is the only one in the program exploring trails in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca state. Motion sickness alert! The ride to and from Santiago Tenango may induce dizzyness.
