Let's talk about art: Jorge Marín
Recinto Materia Escultura Contemporenea
During this season, we are presenting a series of talks to introduce and appreciate the artists and art that we represent. In this occasion we introduce Jorge Marín.
Jorge Marín’s artworks testify to the movement of millions of Mexicans that have incorporated art into everyday life.
Marín has made more than 260 solo and group exhibitions in four continents. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in Europe, in countries such as Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, France, Hungary, England, Portugal, Turkey, and Azerbaijan; from Africa in Egypt, from America in Canada, Costa Rica, the United States, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama; as well as from Asia where he has been exhibited in China, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.
In Jorge Marín’s work it’s always the being explained through its container: its body. Cold bronze figures infused with a burning dynamic, masks, with wings that reach toward the void, imbued with human emotions and in a fantasy. .
“ I like the fact my work elicits a very intimate dialogue, that sort of mirror where you look at yourself and reflect on your fears, your desires, your fantasies . . .”
Do not miss the opportunity to discuss the life and work of this wonderful sculptor. Also we will do some art appreciation with the pieces available on the premises.
