Footpaths and logging roads run through the dense forest. The hillsides are quite steep, but the trails generally follow the contour of the land, maintaining a tolerable gradient. We will first hike a footpath which meanders through the woods, then climb to a viewpoint where a new observation tower was constructed in the summer of 2015. Sack lunch required. Motion sickness alert! The drive to and from the mountains may make some people queasy.
