Huayapam is a small village near Oaxaca inhabited by locals and expats alike who desire a rural community in close proximity to the capital city. We offer two hike options today - a difficult hike with significant elevation gain and a moderate one that puts less demand on your legs and lungs. Both hikes are of roughly the same length. After the hikes everyone will meet at a lakeside restaurant for a pleasant lunch before returning to Oaxaca.

MODERATE HIKE: Time frame: 9 am to 2:30 pm / Distance: 6.76 Km (4.2 Mi) / Elevation change: 151.5 meters (497 feet) gain & loss / Type: out & back / Trail: dirt road & footpaths / Exposure: full sun / Rating: moderate
