Guelagetza is a huge celebration of the diverse customs, costumes, dance and music of the communities and regions within the state of Oaxaca. It take place during the last two weeks of July every year, with major shows on the last two Mondays of July at the Guelagetza Stadium on Fortin Hill. There are many additional events in and around the city of Oaxaca including food tastings, street shows and parades.

For details closer to the event, contact one of the local tourist offices at:

-the Teatro Juarez complex, inside the gate and just to the right of the theater's entrance, across from LLano Park on Av. Benito Juarez, Col. Centro
