Spanish Immersion: Visita al Mercado/Visit to the Market for Day of the Dead

This event is part of Tlayudona’s series of hands-on Spanish immersion experiences with Susana Medina, our certified Spanish teacher and host. This series is meant to compliment your conventional Spanish classes by providing fun and interesting ways to immerse yourself in the language. What:
“Visita al Mercado” is the first in a two-part culinary-meets-Spanish-acquisition experience, in which we’ll do exactly what its name implies––take a visit to Tlayudona’s closest market to learn about regional foods and talk to some of the local vendors. Because it´s October, the markets will be bustling and filled with amazing colors and flavors in preparation for “Día de los Muertos”, or Day of the Dead. Samples will abound, and we’ll purchase some of the ingredients for the following day’s activity. Spanish language-learners of all levels are welcome to participate.



Where:
This experience will begin at Tlayudona (#100 Hidalgo, Barrio Jalatlaco) and finish in a local Oaxacan market.

When:
Tuesday, October 16th from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Cost:
250 pesos per person
