We present this collective exercise. An intellectual project of which this book is just a first collective production: we want to understand the ungovernability of migrations and, through looking at the escape practices, of disobedience to the different types of borders in force in the continent, to partly understand the transformations of capitalism, of neoliberalism "from above" and "from below" in our America. Through understanding these geographies, we also propose to provide explanatory clues for the global present and the epochal change we are attending, in the end, to share the hypotheses with other struggles and other communities of thought and action.

The book offers to illuminate the subjective dimension of migrations even in the most brutal forms of violence that mark migrants in their mobility throughout the region. Migratory movements are analyzed within the framework of the transformation processes that reconfigure citizenship and work, border spaces and legal systems, cultures and societies in Latin America and beyond. Migrant struggles are at the center, resistance and self-organization are explored, which often do not take the form of struggles in a traditional sense. Beyond the contributions to the knowledge of the migratory processes in the region, this book also bets on opening a space to rethink Latin America from the point of view of the multiple mobility and migration practices that cross it and continually reconfigure it, establishing new connections and disconnection

Presentamos este ejercicio colectivo. Un proyecto intelectual del que este libro es apenas una primera produccio?n colectiva: queremos entender la ingobernabilidad de las migraciones y, a trave?s de mirar las pra?cticas de fuga, de desobediencia a los diferentes tipos de fronteras vigentes en el continente, comprender en parte las transformaciones del capitalismo, del neoliberalismo “desde arriba” y “desde abajo” en nuestra Ame?rica. A trave?s de entender estas geografi?as, tambie?n nos proponemos aportar pistas explicativas para el presente global y el cambio epocal al que asistimos, para, al final de cuentas, compartir las hipo?tesis con otras luchas y otras comunidades de pensamiento y accio?n.

El libro ofrece iluminar la dimensión subjetiva de las migraciones aún en las formas de violencia más brutales que marcan a los migrantes en su movilidad atraves de la región. Los movimiento migratorios son analizados en el marco de los procesos de transformación que reconfiguran la ciudadanía y el trabajo, los espacios fronterizos y los sistemas legales, las culturas y las sociedades en América Latina y más allá de ella. Las luchas de los migrantes están en el centro, se explora la resistencia y auto organización, las cuales frecuentemente no toman la forma de luchas en un sentido tradicional. Más allá de los aportes al conocimiento de los procesos migratorios en la región, este libro apuesta también a abrir un espacio para repensar América Latina desde el punto de vista de las múltiples prácticas de movilidad y migración que la atraviesan y la reconfiguran continuamente, estableciendo nuevas conexiones y desconexiones.
